Go to internet explorer, Tools>>Internet Options>>Connections tab>>Lan Settings and unselect the proxy. For you to be able to connect to your works network you may need to use a VPN to connect to the network and after that you can connect to the internet too, using the proxy server (so the box needs to be checked this time).
